SyncTV Web Services will deliver premium content across multiple devices

Sunnyvale, Calif., March 23, 2010 – SyncTV Corporation™ unveiled its latest business enabling product today, SyncTV Web Services (SWS) aimed at online video service providers such as network operators and broadcasters seeking to expand their services across an Internet connected device platform.

SWS differs from other online video platforms by allowing video service providers to easily deploy fully-branded video services to a broad set of connected televisions, Blu-ray players, stand alone set top boxes, game systems and smart phones. The SWS unified platform includes a broad set of e-commerce business models, content ingestion and management, as well as turnkey app deployment to connected devices.

“Roku created a truly open platform for the delivery of content to the TV when we announced the Roku Channel Store in 2009,” said Jim Funk, vice president of business development for Roku. “We are pleased to be partnering with SyncTV to help video service providers bring their quality content to the TV for our customers to enjoy.”

“The future of the Internet video industry is delivering video to three screens,” said Andrew Kippen, vice president of marketing at Boxee. “SyncTV Web Services makes it easy for content owners to deliver video on three screens without having to do extra work – allowing them to focus on what they do best, create great content.”

SWS enables video service providers to better manage and distribute video content through the following unique feature set:

➢ Total Branded Experience – Video service providers have complete control over the user experience across all connected platforms.

➢ Turnkey app deployment—SWS offers integrated fully-skinnable, centrally-managed apps for Yahoo! TV Widgets, Blu-ray players, the Roku player, Boxee, iPhone, Android and Palm webOS.

➢ Multiple business models – Ability to seamlessly switch between premium content models such as subscription, purchase, and rental. SWS also provides targeted ad insertion and ad network integration.

➢ Download to PC – Includes desktop applications for Windows, Mac and Linux, which allows for content browsing, download and off-line playback.

➢ Web player – SWS provides a branded website and embeddable web player.

“For premium video service providers managing, merchandizing, delivering and measuring the performance of paid-for content is an overwhelmingly complex process,” said John Gildred, founder of SyncTV. “SyncTV Web Services removes all this complexity by offering an end-to-end solution for a fully-branded experience across the millions of connected consumer electronics.”

SWS’ business model is a cost-of-bandwidth plus transaction fee. Each time an end-user pays for programming, SWS receives a portion of the cost of the transaction. There are no set-up fees for video service providers that deploy SWS.
