In January 2005, five companies formed the Marlin Joint Development Association (JDA) to develop DRM specifications that provide interoperability across multiple multimedia devices and services. These companies are:

The Marlin founders have made the Marlin specifications open to public participation. To review released versions of the specifications for evaluation purposes, or to join the Marlin Developer Community (MDC) as a participant, click here. To request any other information, click here.

Mission

The MDC’s mission is twofold – to develop specifications for an interoperable DRM platform for multimedia service, device and content providers, and to provide open access to these specifications to drive market adoption.
